  • How to handle locked in shares

I did not find option to record purchase of locked in shares bought from off market deal.

This has to be differentiated from the regular trades of the same scrip as the software treats FIFO by default.

When these locked in shares are sold on expiry, such sale has to recorded in the same category to arrive at the actual profit or loss.

Please suggest or forward the issue to developer team for providing solution

    Dear Amar Vissamsetty,

You can open another portfolio linked to the same account for such locked-in shares or physical shares, Capital gains in this portfolio will be treated separately.

Creating another portfolio should do the trick. In this portfolio the capital gains can be used and treated distinctly so that it can be differentiated from the regular trades of the same scrip.
